Inside Out -- Movie Review

      Have you ever imagined what would it be like if all your actions were controlled by little people called emotions? Well, Disney have. The movie tells the story of a young girl called Riley. She is now moving from Minnesota to San Francisco, and how will the emotions react when she can't play hockey anymore, or she is made fun of in school, when she has no friends? Joy, Anger, Fear, Disgust and Sadness will have to find a way through. But then a terrible accident happen. Joy and Sadness are lost in the brain. How will Riley react without this two main emotions? Only watching you will see.

        The movie won the Oscar for Best Animation. One of the main things that keeps us watching the movie is the comedy. And that wouldn't be possible without the the voice of the hilarious Lewis Black (Anger). Like we always see him in social media saying "Congratulations San Francisco, you've ruined pizza! First the hawaiians and now you!". Besides the expected-cheesy-disney-movie-ending, the movie was great. Certainly a movie for the whole family

Saddest Movie Character Death

Rue - Hunger Games

The little girl that enchanted our hearts throughout the movie, dies in such a normal and brutal way during the games. There is where even the people who were supporting the bad guys gets frustrated and wants Katniss to win, for Rue.

Tip of the Week (The Hundred-Foot Journey)

     This comedy-drama tells the story about an indian family who just moved to France. They had a restaurant in Mumbai, but a tragedy make them move to Europe. Is there a better place to start an indian restaurant than 100 steps away from a restaurant that has Michelin Stars? Well the Kadam family thinks so. The second-oldest son, Hassam Kadam has a culinary gift and soon enough the owner of the restaurant that has Michelin Stars notice and want him as a cooker. She really wants to maintain her star or even win another one, she needs a good chef. Is Hassam the best option? Lots of controversies occur and finally Hassam moves to the restaurant in front. Will they manage to keep the stars

        The movie is from 2014 and it was based on the novel by Richard Morais. It counts with good actors like Helen Mirren and Om Puri. Produced by Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey for the DreamWorks Pictures, The Hundred-Foot Journey was nominated for the Golden Globe, as Best Actress in Comedy or Musical with Helen Mirren, but it didn't won. This is a family movie that you will certainly love it!

The Big Short -- Movie Review (no spoilers)

         The global economic meltdown just occurred in 2008, but some guys noticed years before. The Big Short is a movie that tells a story about people who made millions or even billions from disaster. Michael Burry is a crazy investors that always makes the right decisions, but he starts to get questioned when he starts to bet against the housing market. Pretty crazy right? The movie is full of banking terms and sometimes you get bored or you feel stupid, but the characters often break the fourth wall to try to help you. And famous people explain it to yo like Margot Robbie and Selena Gomez.  

          Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling and many more talented actors show that, in this real life based movie, making money not always makes you happy. You are betting that disaster will happen, if you are wrong the fraudulent system is still going on, and still working; but if you are right, you would make billions of dollars, but many people would lose their jobs, their houses, or even their lives. If you made billions out of it, would you be happy? The Big Short was nominated for five Oscars, including best picture and won Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay. Great movie, you should watch it.

Best Movie Trilogies

Tip of the Week (Radio)

       Radio is a movie that is based on a true story. The movie tells the story about the mental-deficient teenager James Robert Kennedy, aka Radio, for his passions for radios; and a football coach. They met when the football team players were making fun of Radio and getting him scared. The movie is set in 1976, in a high school in South Carolina, were eventually the coach manage to get Radio into it. Harold (the coach) starts treating Radio like his own son, and eventually discovers that Radio lost his fathr that fixed radios and now he lives with his mother, that is super-protector, but believes in the coach.

       After watching lots of practices Radio falls in love with Football, and starts helping Harold. Some people don't approve the staying of Radio in the sideline or even in the school. The battle that Harold and Radio have to stay in school starts to get complicated when the city hall interferes. Will the coach and James manage to overcome this story? But remember, this is a film based on a true story. A happy ending is questionable. Only watching you will find out.

Batman v.s Superman -- Movie Review (no spoilers)

         If you are a real and fanatic HQ fan, go and watch it. But if you are not, well, don't waste your time. I'm not saying that the movie sucks, but,....... It could have been much better. We are talking about the two most famous heroes of all time! They are fighting against each other! This should be the movie of the year! But the tyring direction, and  lousy plot, made the film worse. One thing saved the movie completely. Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor). The guy was terrific! This is not the first time that a supporting actor saves a batman movie. We all remember Heath Ledger awesome performing. We might not be surprised is Jesse gets nominated for the next year's Oscars as the best supporting actor. Amy Adams also did a pretty good job, as Lois Lane. 

        The movie is really boring at the beginning, it only gets interesting towards the end when Batman says: "Do you bleed? …… You will", which is followed by fight scenes that are absolutely amazing. But then the fight scenes are over, the good part of the movie is actually over. If an almost surprising ending, Batman v.s Superman show us that this movie will be followed by The Justice League: Part One (2017). Overall the movie was a real disappointing to the fans, and maybe in the future (about 10 from now) some genius director might do a remake and make us forget this one.
